Cement Retarders
Additives that extend thickening time of oil-well cement slurries. Chemistry class must match temperature, cement type and slurry design.
Application
Primary and remedial cementing where thickening time must be adjusted for BHCT, slurry density and placement time. Lignosulphonate, synthetic and other retarder classes are not interchangeable without lab confirmation.
Technical characteristics (quality certificate)
Typical values as stated on a mill quality certificate (passport) for a standard commercial grade. Actual lot values are confirmed in the COA / TDS for the selected manufacturer.
Cement class compatibility
API Class A–H (per additive type)
API 10A / ISO 10426-1
Typical BHCT range
Per additive grade
API RP 10B-2
Thickening time extension
Grade- and temperature-dependent
API RP 10B-2
Reference profile for orientation. For each supply we confirm grade, origin and certificate data against your specification, well conditions and delivery requirements.
Typical functions
- Thickening time extension
- Placement window control
- Compatibility with selected fluid-loss additives — system dependent
