PAC-LV

PAC LV — Polyanionic Cellulose, Low Viscosity

Low-viscosity polyanionic cellulose used to control fluid loss in water-based drilling fluids with limited impact on rheology.

Application

Water-based drilling fluids, including freshwater, seawater and selected brine systems. Typical use is API fluid-loss control in circulating muds where viscosity build must remain limited.

Technical characteristics (quality certificate)

Typical values as stated on a mill quality certificate (passport) for a standard commercial grade. Actual lot values are confirmed in the COA / TDS for the selected manufacturer.

API fluid loss (max)

Per functional class / grade

API RP 13B-2 / API 13A

Apparent viscosity (max)

≤ 40 mPa·s (LV grade)

API 13A / ISO 13500

Loss on drying

≤ 10%

API 13A / Manufacturer TDS

Degree of substitution

≥ 0.90 (typical API grade)

API 13A / OCMA

Reference profile for orientation. For each supply we confirm grade, origin and certificate data against your specification, well conditions and delivery requirements.

Typical functions

  • API fluid-loss control
  • Filtration cake quality
  • Limited rheology contribution
  • Compatible with common mud additives

Product information

Chemical name
Polyanionic Cellulose, Low Viscosity
Formula / class
PAC-LV
Appearance
Off-white to cream free-flowing powder. Exact colour and particle size depend on the manufacturer and grade.
Packaging
Typically 25 kg bags on pallets. Other industrial packaging can be arranged by manufacturer and order volume.

PAC LV is a generic functional class. Degree of substitution, purity, moisture and performance versus API/OCMA specifications vary by producer. Grades should not be treated as interchangeable without technical comparison of TDS.
